Since Virgil van Dijk arrived at Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp and the Dutchman have set a number of Premier League records together.
Liverpool set a Premier League record for holding the largest lead at the top when the £240,000-a-week man and the German helped create a 25-point gap at the summit of England in 2020, while also achieving the quickest title win ever, most home wins in a row, and the best ever start to a Premier League campaign.
From a personal aspect, Van Dijk has never lost a Premier League game at Anfield since his arrival from Southampton in January 2018, although he could be in for a big shock this Sunday.
Van Dijk could lose Liverpool record
As things stand, Manchester City are the overriding favourites this Sunday in the Premier League clash at Anfield.
The Citizens are yet to lose in nine Premier League outings so far this term, while they also have Erling Haaland in their ranks, who has already scored 20 goals this season in remarkable fashion.

Amazingly, Van Dijk is yet to taste defeat in 68 Premier League games at Anfield, which is simply astounding given the fact he has been on Merseyside for almost five years now.
However, we believe the Liverpool No.4 is in for a shock to the system this Sunday, with Pep Guardiola and his side clear favourites to take all three points given the circumstances.
Liverpool & Van Dijk have a chance
Of course, the odds are against Liverpool at the moment, but that has often been the case when Manchester City have rocked up at Anfield.
We are not expecting the Reds to win, although few people expected them to be victorious in January 2018 when goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane ended Manchester City’s 22-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.
The same also happened in both legs of the Champions League quarter-final that season.
Clearly, Klopp knows how to get his players fired up for clashes with Guardiola, although everything points to Van Dijk losing his phenomenal Anfield record this Sunday.
