Darren Bent has told The Kelly & Wrighty Show that Harry Kane has been “phenomenal” for Tottenham this season, but “no-one is talking about it” because of Erling Haaland and his incredible 20 goals in 12 games for Manchester City.
Kane has scored a superb eight goals in nine Premier League games. An incredible start to the season that normally would see the England skipper at the top of the goalscoring charts. He would be odds-on for the golden boot.
But Haaland has taken the Premier League by storm – as aforementioned, 20 goals in 12. In the Premier League, the Norwegian superstar has 15 goals in nine league games. He already has seven more goals than Tottenham star Kane.
He has already equalled last season’s top scorer in the Premier League for Manchester City, in Kevin De Bruyne. Speaking about the goalscoring charts, Bent praised Kane but says it has gone under the radar because of Haaland.
“Kane has been phenomenal but no one is even talking about it, because Haaland has 15 goals in eight. Kane will be there and thereabouts, it is about catching Haaland up and Kane, he won’t give it up because he loves scoring goals.”

Kane has been sensational this season. Scoring goals on a regular basis . The previous difficulty with scoring goals in January is now gone. Kane is in peak form and Antonio Conte is getting the best out of his star player at Tottenham.
But Haaland is on a different planet. While he is getting the best ammunition possible, something Kane might have done had he joined City in the summer of 2021, he is taking the chances. His 15 goals is groundbreaking at this stage.
Kane’s form, though, is superb. It should not go unnoticed. He is taking Tottenham into the top four with his goals and Spurs look a decent bet to qualify for the Champions League again. Can they fight for the title? Perhaps a bit much.
