Arsenal want Nicolo Zaniolo with reports in Italy suggesting that they are watching the Roma star’s situation with intent.
The Gunners have enjoyed a blistering start to the Premier League season and sit top of the table having dropped just three points.
It still feels unlikely that Arsenal can really challenge Manchester City for top spot but you just never know.
January additions could be vital to any title hopes and another attacking threat would be vital for Mikel Arteta moving forward.

Arsenal want Nicolo Zaniolo
Nicolas Pepe was loaned to Nice without a replacement, so Arsenal appear to be in the market for another wide player.
Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk has been linked but Arsenal also appear to be looking towards the Italian market.
Italian reporter Ciro Venerato has been quoted by Football News 24 as saying that Arsenal are ‘monitoring the situation’ of Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo.
Juventus and Arsenal are ‘in the background’ for Zaniolo as Roma look to tie him down to a new contract.
It’s suggested that Roma want to put a €50million (£44million) release clause in Zaniolo’s deal and an agreement could be close.
Yet with Arsenal now sniffing around, it remains to be seen whether Zaniolo could be tempted away from the Stadio Olimpico.
Zaniolo, 23, has long been hailed as a real talent in Italy and has been playing as a number 10 or right-sided winger under Jose Mourinho.
Zaniolo has yet to register a goal or assist in Serie A this season but his quality and potential is clear for all to see.
Hailed for ‘flashes of genius’ by Fabio Capello, Zaniolo can still take his game to another level and Arsenal may think he can do it in the red half of North London.
Calciomercato claimed in July that Tottenham offered £25million plus Joe Rodon for Zaniolo but Roma said no and kept the Italian.
It still looks like Zaniolo will stay with Roma but if a deal becomes possible, Arsenal will seemingly be very interested.
