Palmeiras have reportedly set an asking price of €70m (£62m) on wonderkid talent Endrick, with Arsenal and Tottenham in the chase to sign the Brazilian teenager.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the 16-year-old phenom will be allowed to leave his boyhood club if a team is willing to match Palmeiras’ asking price, with the report stating that Real Madrid are keen to sign Endrick and bring the attacker to Spain once he turns 18.
As per EU rules, players outside of Europe can only move to the continent once turn 18-years-old, meaning the likes of Madrid, Arsenal and Tottenham have until 2024 to battle it out to sign Endrick, who this week finally made his long-awaited senior debut for Palmeiras.
The attacking talent made headlines over the summer as Endrick starred for Palmeiras in the Copa Sao Paulo, one of the biggest youth tournaments in all of Brazil and one viewed by many as the most prestigious in the South American nation. And now, many of Europe’s biggest sides want to sign the teenager.
Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola recently revealed that Arsenal and Tottenham were in the race to sign Endrick, with BBC Sport also reporting that Liverpool, Manchester City and Southampton are also in the mix for the 16-year-old, who has already been likened to Brazilian legend Ronaldo.
Indeed, with Palmeiras setting an asking price for Endrick, it will be interesting to see where the transfer saga goes given how high the Brazilian giants value their new wonderkid superstar, with the likes of Madrid no doubt willing to pay the £62m for the teenager.
Madrid and City could follow through with Endrick’s asking price
Endrick is on track to becoming the hottest talent to come out of Brazil since Neymar, and with Palmeiras setting a huge asking price for the striker, it feels like the battle to sign the South American wonderkid will come down to City or Madrid heading into next year.
After all, both clubs have the money to spend on such a young yet exciting talent, and for Madrid especially, they will not want to let yet another Brazilian wonderkid slip through their fingers after famously missing out on Neymar to rivals FC Barcelona back in 2013.
