Alasdair Gold has told his YouTube channel that Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga has suffered another injury, claiming he was told about the Englishman’s new knock before the 0-0 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday.
Tanganga, 23, has managed just one substitute appearance this season – coming on for 17 minutes against Marseille. The England Under-21 international has only been included in the matchday squad in eight of Tottenham’s 11 games.
Indeed, he was missing from the squad against Arsenal – and then Frankfurt. The Spurs academy graduate finds himself behind Davinson Sanchez and Cristian Romero on the right of a back three, while there are three right wing-backs.
Emerson Royal, Matt Doherty and Djed Spence, now on the books. Tanganga was linked with a move to Italian football in the summer. Gold claimed the £21m-rated man wanted to join Milan. Gold said Tanganga now has an injury.

“I think Japhet Tanganga has an injury now as well, yeah he has actually as I was told that before the match [against Frankfurt]. Japhet, honestly, he has had so many injuries. He just never gets a run, does he,” Gold said.
Gold: Tottenham defender Tanganga has suffered another injury
Tanganga needs to play regularly. If he is getting a bit of game time here and there, then it is clear that his body is lacking the momentum required to keep fit. A move in the summer was one that he desperately needed.
Not only for his career, but also to stay injury-free. To build up that resilience to injury. Plenty of Premier League clubs were also linked with Tanganga. Leeds, Everton and Newcastle among those considering a move as per TMW.
But as things stand, Tanganga now has to sit on the treatment table again. He has to live with remaining at Spurs in the summer. That, instead of leaving the club on loan to a side where he would be playing regularly.
