Bodo/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen has slammed Tottenham’s approach on Saturday against Arsenal in the North London Derby, with the 54-year-old hoping to best the Gunners tonight at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking to the Evening Standard ahead of Bodo/Glimt’s trip to Arsenal this evening, the Norweigian manager was critical of how Antonio Conte set up his side over the weekend to face Mikel Arteta’s side, with the Gunners running away 3-1 winners in a massive result for the Premier League leaders.

Bodo/Glimt have been regarded in recent years as one of the most tactically interested sides on the continent as Knutsen has led the Norweigian minnows to two top-flight titles and to Europe, with the Superlaget last season beating the likes of AS Roma and Celtic in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

And tonight is no doubt set to be one of the club’s biggest fixtures in their history, with Arsenal one of the in-form teams in Europe this season as well as one of the biggest sides in all of England. Yet Bodo/Glimt manager Knutsen is confident that he knows how to get a result against the Gunners.

Indeed, the 54-year-old laid out his game plan in the pre-match press conference this week and specifically called out Tottenham’s approach against Arsenal as something that a club shouldn’t do to get a result against Arteta’s side, who have lost just once this season.

Knutsen said about Bodo/Glimt’s approach tonight against Arsenal: “We need to be aggressive in the low block, high intensity in the high press. And we will have to control the ball. Tottenham only defended, Zurich only defended. If you do that you won’t stand a chance against them.”

Bodo/Glimt have been one of Europe’s rising teams over the past two years, and whilst Arsenal are still the clear favourites for tonight’s contest, Arteta can’t go underestimating the Norweigian side given even with the advantage of playing at home this evening.

After all, Bodo/Glimt have beaten some of Europe’s biggest sides over the past 12 months and were this season close to qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. And for Arsenal, claiming three points tonight will be huge in their quest to finish top of Group A.
