Jermaine Jenas has said on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel that Arsenal central defender William Saliba has been so good so far this season that he has exposed his Gunners teammate Gabriel.
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder believes that Saliba has elevated the defending at Arsenal to another level.
The BBC Sport and BT Sport pundit has added that Brazilian star Gabriel is still a very good defender.
Jenas made the comments when told by Arsenal fan Joel Beya on the channel that he is worried about Gabriel.
The £27 million (Sky Sports) central defender gave away a penalty against Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium in the North London derby this weekend.
Arsenal, though, still won the Premier League game.

Jenas said:”I just feel that Saliba has elevated the level that it has just exposed Gabriel a little bit. He is still very good, he is still a very good centre-half.”

In our view, Gabriel is a very good central defender who did well for Arsenal last season and is playing well at the moment.
Yes, the Brazilian does make mistakes, but so does every other footballer on the planet.
Gabriel and Saliba are the two main centre-backs at Arsenal at the moment, and we do not think that manager Mikel Arteta is going to change that anytime soon.
The great thing this season is that Arteta can also call upon Ben White to play instead of Gabriel or Saliba in central defence.
The former Leeds United loanee is a centre-back by trade, but he has been playing at right-back this season.
