Ian Wright has said on Match of the Day on BBC One that Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris made a “terrible error” against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the North London derby on Saturday afternoon.

The Arsenal legend believes that Lloris should have kept out Gabriel Jesus’s effort in the opening minutes of the second half.

Arsenal won the Premier League game against Tottenham 3-1 at home.

Brazil international striker Jesus found the back of the net in the 49th minute.

Tottenham and France international goalkeeper Lloris fumbled badly to allow former Manchester City striker Jesus to find the back of the net.

And MOTD pundit Wright was not impressed by the £100,000-a-week (Spotrac) goalkeeper.

Ian Wright on Hugo Lloris for Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal

Wright said: “The goalkeeper spills it. Terrible error from the goalkeeper.”

Disappointing

Hugo Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and we think that the Tottenham Hotspur star should have done better for Gabriel Jesus’s goal in the North London derby against Arsenal.

Now, of course, everyone makes mistakes, and goalkeepers’s errors are highlighted more than others.

However, Lloris is a very experienced goalkeeper who should have found it easy to claim the ball instead of spilling it onto Jesus.
