Antonio Conte spoke to the media before Tottenham took on Arsenal earlier today, where he revealed people at Spurs are “worried” about Lucas Moura.
Why Tottenham are concerned about Lucas Moura
Well, the north Londoners are worried about the £80,000-a-week man, because he has failed to recover from his injury as they expected him to.
The Brazil international has not played since the 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge after picking up a calf injury, which Conte reveals he is still struggling with.
Speaking to BT Sport, the Italian said: “We are worried about Lucas because he is not recovering the problem he has.”
Lucas has now missed out on the last five matchday squads in the Premier League, although the international break – as well as recent postponements – have given him some extra time to focus on his recovery.

In truth, the South American wasn’t exactly a key player for Conte before he suffered his calf injury.
Lucas only played four minutes of football in the 4-1 win over Southampton at the start of the Premier League campaign, before being given eight minutes in the 2-2 draw against Chelsea.
Lucas Moura could leave Tottenham
In our view, this could be the beginning of the end for Lucas at Tottenham.
The 30-year-old’s contract expires in the summer of 2024, so if Spurs fail to sell him in 2023, they could end up losing their No.27 for nothing.
Daniel Levy is a shrewd operator, and he would surely prefer to receive some sort of fee for Lucas rather than allow him to leave on a free transfer in 2024.
Therefore, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the Brazilian leave Tottenham at the end of the season, especially if Conte continues to leave him on the bench when he is fit to play.
