Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Jude Bellingham is Liverpool’s ‘priority’ transfer target and claimed that some clubs have already made contact about signing the sensation.

At only 19, Bellingham has a frighteningly-bright future in football and the Reds are reportedly winning the race to sign him.

However, Real Madrid have emerged as a candidate following a report from Spain in midweek.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder, who earns £49,000 per week, is said to be a Liverpool supporter [The Mirror] which could sway him toward Anfield.

And Romano has revealed that those on Merseyside are massive admirerers of the former Birmingham City starlet, making him their top priority in 2023.

He told Caught Offside: “To start with, Liverpool will be there – they want Bellingham, they also wanted Aurelien Tchouameni earlier this year. Now a priority for Liverpool is to sign a top midfielder, and they saved money this summer because they signed Arthur Melo on loan. Bellingham is now their priority.

“What I know for sure is that all the top European clubs will be there for Bellingham – some have started contacts, others are still waiting to join the race.”

Honestly, it should certainly concern Liverpool, this Romano update.

If they aren’t among the outfits already making contact with the Bundesliga outfit about signing him then Jurgen Klopp and FSG need to get their skates on – and fast.

As mentioned, Bellingham is a generational talent. To be 19 and dictating massive games like he is, having scored in the Champions League against Manchester City earlier this month, is a rare thing and he’ll be snapped up rapidly.

Liverpool need to ensure they have their finger on the pulse here because if they aren’t, they’ll regret it forever.
