Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves turned down the chance to join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool or Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United because he wants to move to Barcelona, according to Sport.
Ruben Neves turned down Liverpool and Manchester United
Sport have reported that Liverpool and Manchester United made contact with Neves’s agent over signing him in the summer of 2022.
The 25-year-old Portugal international did not want to move to Anfield or Old Trafford and is holding out for a transfer to Barcelona in 2023, according to the Spanish publication.
Barcelona had financial problems and could not afford to pay the transfer fee that Wolves wanted for the £58,000-a-week (SalaySport) star in the summer transfer window, but they remain keen on him and the player himself is willing to wait until 2023 to become a player of the Spanish club, according to Sport.

Disappointment
Liverpool and Manchester United are two of the biggest clubs in the world, and the two Premier League teams will be disappointed that Ruben Neves did not join them in the summer of 2022.
Neves is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, and given that he is only 25, it is safe to say that he will get better and improve further in the coming years.
