Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has delivered an update about Antonio Conte’s situation at Tottenham and his family.

The Italian joined Spurs almost 12 months ago, but there’s still something of a feeling that he’s not fully settled at the north London club

He’s continuously been linked with a move away from Spurs, be it to PSG or more recently Juventus, and now, Gold has given an interesting update on the manager’s current family situation.

Indeed, Gold says that Conte’s family are currently still living in Italy as his daughter is finishing school back in their home country, and while that may not seem too significant, the fact that Conte has recently been linked to Juventus makes this very interesting.

Conte’s Italian ties

Gold shared what he knows about Conte’s family being over in Italy.

“I’m pretty sure his daughter is still in her final year or so at school in Italy, with his wife there with her. Yeah, from everything I know and knowing what happens after games, he’s been flying off straight after matches to Italy, and he’s been there over this international break as well. They come over and visit during holidays. He explained this towards the end of last season, timing wise he doesn’t want to unsettle his daughter with her school and friends and all of that,” Gold said.

Tempted to move back?

While there may not be much to read into this, we can’t help but feel that Conte’s continued family ties in Italy may tempt him into taking this Juventus job if it comes up.

Yes, he’s loving life at Spurs, but at the end of the day, Conte is only human, and if he can take a high-paying job in his home country that will allow him to spend more time with his family, he’ll be tempted to take it.

The Italian may live in London at the moment, but it won’t truly be his home until his family is here, as shown by the fact he’s jetting off back to Italy after almost every game.
