According to Ben Jacobs, Erling Haaland has told Liverpool target Jude Bellingham to join him at Manchester City.

The England international is among the most in-demand players on the planet after consistently shining for Borussia Dortmund, with Real Madrid making him a priority target in 2023.

Jacobs adds that Manchester City are also keen on Bellingham, and they could have a secret weapon in Haaland.

Haaland could lure Bellingham to Manchester City over Liverpool

As you may know, Haaland and Bellingham were teammates at Borussia Dortmund, sharing a pitch on 63 occasions.

The pair are good friends, and were seen chatting after Manchester City recently beat Borussia Dortmund by a 2-1 scoreline in the Champions League.

Jacobs believes the Citizens are certainly in the running to sign Bellingham, and Haaland has already told his pal to join him at the Etihad Stadium, which could swing things in Pep Guardiola’s favour.

Interest in the 19-year-old comes after he won the Man of the Match award last night, as England and Germany played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at Wembley.

Bellingham is said to have a release clause worth €150m (£134m) written into his contract at Borussia Dortmund, which would put him among the most expensive players in history if triggered.

Manchester City could still lose out to Liverpool or Real Madrid

While Manchester City have the Haaland factor, Jacobs claims that Liverpool and Real Madrid have invested more time and energy into their pursuits than any other side at this stage.

It is said that a strong personal pitch will be required to sign Bellingham, not just an eye-watering transfer fee and an attractive personal terms package.

Jacobs states that both Liverpool and Real Madrid believe their efforts will pay off when it comes down to the teenager making a decision, so by the sounds of it, Manchester City have some catching up to do when it comes to groundwork.

Wherever he ends up, nobody can deny that Bellingham looks set to hit the very top.
