Reported Liverpool target Nico Williams is ‘practically unstoppable’ in one-on-one situations, older brother and Athletic Bilbao team-mate Inaki tells Mundo Deportivo of his Premier League-linked sibling.
Insert London bus pun here.
After waiting 41 games for his first La Liga goal, two came along at once. Nico belatedly broke his duck in a 4-1 thrashing of Elche earlier this month. He then doubled his tally just six days later, in a 3-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano.

And first-ever Spain cap, following a second half cameo in the UEFA Nations League clash with Switzerland over the weekend, feels like a fitting reward for a 20-year-old forward who has come on leaps and bounds over the last few months.
Nico Williams could play for Spain in the Qatar World Cup
“Physically I am a bit superior. Even though I am eight years older than him, in the 100 meters I still give him a cramp!” quips Inaki Williams, Nico’s elder sibling. “(But) in one-on-ones, however, he is practically unstoppable.
“(His rise) is incredible. He is showing that he is (improving), he is gaining experience. In front of goal, he is improving a lot. And the truth is, if I were Luis Enrique, I would also call up Nico.
“He is a talent, a rough diamond that needs to be polished. He has a lot of room for improvement and hopefully he can continue to improve.”
In quotes reported by AS, Inaki admits that he could have joined Liverpool earlier in his La Liga career. Now, that particular ship has almost-certainly sailed for the Basque-born 28-year-old. But with Jurgen Klopp’s side reportedly keeping a very close eye on Nico, there is a chance that younger of the Williams brothers could soon make the move his brother missed out on.
“I’m a dribbler, like Neymar, (Ousmane Dembele) and Kylian Mbappe,” Nico, who has a £42 million release clause in his contract, told TV3 a couple of months ago.
