The Daily Telegraph journalist Luke Edwards has reported on Twitter that Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United will be without Alexander Isak for a few weeks due to injury.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Isak, who joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in the summer transfer window, will not play for the Magpies for a while.

Isak had to withdraw from the Sweden squad with a knock, as reported by NewcastleWorld.

Edwards has added that Newcastle are confident that Brazil international midfielder Bruno Guimaraes will play against Fulham in the Premier League this coming weekend.

Guimaraes is back at Newcastle due to a groin injury he suffered while on international duty with Brazil.

The Magpies will take on Fulham away from home at Craven Cottage in London in the Premier League on Saturday.

Former Leeds United striker Chris Wood has also picked up an injury on international duty.

As reported by NewcastleWorld, the Newcastle striker injured his rib.

Injury update on Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak

Bad news

In our opinion, if Newcastle United are without Alexander Isak for a while, then it will be bad for Eddie Howe’s side.

Isak is one of the best young strikers around and is a key figure in the Magpies’ team.

The 23-year-old has done well for Newcastle so far this season.

The striker has scored two goals in three Premier League appearances for the Magpies so far this season.
