Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are interested in signing Houssem Aouar from Lyon, according to CMW.
Arsenal and Newcastle United linked with Lyon’s Houssem Aouar
CMW have reported that Arsenal, Newcastle, Juventus and Real Betis all like Lyon midfielder Aouar.
The France international midfielder is out of contract at Lyon next summer.
Ligue 1 outfit Lyon repeatedly value the 24-year-old at €20 million (£18.19 million) at the moment.
Premier League Arsenal were linked with Aouar in the summer transfer window.
The Sun reported in May 2022 that Arsenal wanted to sign the Frenchman, described as “incredible” by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on BBC Sport in November 2018.

Free transfer next summer
In our view, Lyon are unlikely to sell Houssem Aouar in the middle of the season, which means that Arsenal and Newcastle United would have to wait until next summer to sign the 24-year-old on a free transfer.
The France international midfielder himself may not want to join another club in January, as he will know that as a free agent next summer, he will be able to demand a lot more in salary.
Aouar has played once in Ligue 1 for Lyon so far this season.
The 24-year-old Frenchman made 29 starts and seven substitute appearances in the league last season, scoring six goals and providing four assists in the process.
Aouar made six starts and three substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League last season, scoring two goals in the process.
