Liverpool want Jude Bellingham and Robbie Fowler believes his arrival would be similar to Erling Haaland joining Manchester City.

The Reds have been a well-oiled machine under Jurgen Klopp but some new parts may be needed.

Liverpool’s engine is starting to sputter and it’s time for a major addition in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.

The time will be right next summer; James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita will all be out of contract and look likely to go as things stand.

Clearing the decks for a big addition may be the plan and Liverpool have a top target in mind.

Liverpool want Jude Bellingham

The main name mentioned is Jude Bellingham with the Borussia Dortmund midfielder ultimately expected to move on in 2023.

The Daily Mail reported in August that Liverpool expect Bellingham to join next summer with FSG ready to fund a huge move.

Bellingham will surely cost around £100million so this would mark a major investment from the Liverpool owners.

Competition for Bellingham will be high; you can be sure that Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United will also be keen.

Liverpool continue to be the main name in the mix though and Reds legend Robbie Fowler has now offered his take.

Speaking to The Mirror, Fowler noted that Bellingham is England’s future and the ‘kind of player Klopp needs’ at Liverpool.

Fowler even believes that signing Bellingham would give Liverpool a lift similar to the one Virgil van Dijk gave in 2018.

Fowler then added that Bellingham is ‘in the same category’ as Erling Haaland in terms of a huge statement signing.

Bellingham won’t be scoring the goals that Haaland does – after all, who could? – but he could completely revolutionise Liverpool’s midfield.

FSG are very calculated in the market and don’t get into bidding wars, but if any player is worth it, then it’s absolutely Bellingham.
