Torino already sense Nikola Vlasic has increased in value by 66% since signing the Croatian on loan from West Ham United. The Serie A side also have an option to buy the playmaker.

That is according to Tuttosport, which reports Il Toro jumped at a chance to hire Vlasic for a season. The Turin outfit’s deal also features a €15m (£13.5m) option to buy the 24-year-old in 2023. A price worth half of the €30m (£27m) that the Irons paid CSKA Moscow last year.

Davide Vagnati, Torino technical director, had kept an eye on Vlasic during the summer of 2021 in the hopes of a deal. But CSKA Moscow’s demands ensured they could not rival the fee West Ham showed no hesitancy to pay. Yet Vlasic did not adapt to the Premier League.

Hammers boss David Moyes only started Vlasic in a mere six top-flight matches during the 2021/22 campaign. He also only introduced the playmaker from the bench on 13 occasions and left him as an unused substitute 14 times. He never played for more than 80 minutes.

West Ham had hoped Vlasic could fill their creativity void after Jesse Lingard did not return from a loan spell from Manchester United. The England international had struck nine goals and assisted five in 16 outings. Yet Vlasic ended the term with just one goal and no assists.

Vlasic has already got himself back amongst the goals since signing for Torino on loan from West Ham. The Split native found the back of the net three times over seven appearances in Serie A before the international break. He also started in six of his outings under Ivan Juric.

Torino believe West Ham loanee Nikola Vlasic will be worth £27m again next year

Vlasic has captivated the Torino hierarchy with his efforts on loan from West Ham. Urbano Cairo, Toro president, recently called the midfielder ‘spectacular’ while speaking to DAZN, via quotes by Calciomercato. He also praised Vlasic for his ‘great quality and intelligence’.

Torino are so impressed by what Vlasic has shown that they already believe he is worth at least €25m (£22.5m). Il Torino feel his value has increased by 66% on their option to buy in line with scoring three goals in seven outings. Torino also believe his value will keep rising.

So much so that by the end of his season on loan, Torino expect Vlasic will be worth what West Ham paid CSKA Moscow. Il Toro also sees the potential for the Croatian international to be worth more than the €30m (£27m) the Hammers handed over late in August 2021.
