Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres admits he feels ready for the Premier League while discussing those links with Everton and Fulham, speaking to Fotboll Skanalen.
The seven-time Sweden international might have scored just two goals for the Championship strugglers so far this term but, as Sunderland supporters will tell you, give Viktor Gyokeres time and space at your peril.
In a game drastically low on quality, the former Brighton youngster lit up the Stadium of Light on July 1st; picking up possession, skipping past a tackle or two before lamping a shot into the bottom corner from 25 yards out.

It was a goal of undoubted Premier League quality from a man who has his fair share of top-flight admirers. It was Fotboll Skanalen who reported Everton’s interest, with The Sun claiming that Fulham have taken notice of the 6ft 2ins, £15 million-rated powerhouse too.
Leeds United are also keeping tabs on his development at the Ricoh Arena (Dean Jones).
Is Coventry City’s Viktor Gyokeres really ready for the Premier League?
“Of course, it’s fun,” Gyokeres responds. “But (a summer move) didn’t happen and I’m still with Coventry,”
“Yes, absolutely (I’m ready for the Premier League). I have been in England for a long time and it would be fun. But I am also open to other leagues. I’ve been at Brighton before.
“There were a few different factors (why I didn’t move this summer).”
Gyokeres, an emphatic finisher who had a forgettable spell at Swansea City a couple of seasons ago, scored 18 goals for Coventry last term, ensuring the Sky Blues never looked in danger of a return to League One.
“He’s done exceptionally well. And he’s still learning the game,” Coventry boss Mark Robins explains.
“Hopefully he can (reach the highest level). Things are moving in the right direction for him. He is still learning the game but a lot of the work he does with his power and his pace, and obviously he’s got an eye for a goal.
“There are still areas that he can work on, clearly. But yeah, I think he has got a lot of really good attributes to allow him to play at the top level at some point.”
