Is Slime Rancher 2 coming to PS4 and PS5?

Slime Rancher 2 is not or coming to PS4 and PS5 as of September 23rd, 2022.

It is only available on Xbox One, Series X/S, and PC in early access format. Per a Reddit AMA with a Monomi Park developer, the game has not been announced for any other platforms yet.

There is no explicit suggestion from either the series’ official Twitter or Discord channels that it will join PlayStation consoles in the future. However, there is still the possibility it could join Sony devices at a later date judging by the first game.

SR1’s Xbox exclusivity

The original Slime Rancher was exclusive to Xbox and PC in 2017 before joining PlayStation consoles a year later in August 2018.

It’s important to note that the original game was also in early access format back in 2016, too. If similar to the first game, SR2 could possibly join Sony consoles a year after its full release on Xbox and PC.

Unfortunately, there’s no release date for the full game yet, but Steam says it will remain in EA format for at least 18-months. This suggests a full release may not happen until 2024, in which case it may not land on Sony platforms at all until 2025.

But, again, it’s not confirmed for PlayStation consoles at all as of writing.
