Liverpool have reportedly joined the race to sign Shakhtar Donetsk superstar Mykhaylo Mudryk, with Arsenal in contention for the 21-year-old winger as well as Everton.
According to CalcioMercato, the Anfield side are now chasing Mudryk with Liverpool just the latest club to register an interest in the Ukrainian international, with Arsenal and Everton both keen on signing the UEFA Champions League star, who this season has been in spectacular form.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, as many as 15 clubs are interested in signing Mudryk in the January transfer window, with Shakhtar valuing their star attacker at £44m after the Ukrainian giants were able to hold onto their star asset in the summer, with Arsenal the side most-interested in the youngster.
However, Liverpool entering the picture is a whole other story for the Gunners as well as Frank Lampard’s Everton, with the Reds one of the best clubs in the world and a team that many top players will want to sign for at the drop of a hat, such as Mudryk.

Indeed, Liverpool’s signings in recent years have been key behind their incredible success on the pitch, and given the departure of Sadio Mane in the summer, Mudryk could be an ideal reinforcement for the Senegalese international, with the 21-year-old a versatile attacker who can play numerous positions.
Likened by Shakhtar sporting director Darijo Srna to PSG star Kylian Mbappe, Mudryk’s stock has risen considerably this season despite how short the new campaign has been, and for Liverpool, landing the youngster would be one impressive coup given the immense competition Jurgen Klopp’s side face for the attacker’s signature.

As mentioned, Liverpool’s transfer policy is one of the best in Europe, and whilst the Reds have options out on the wing in Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota, adding Mudryk to the mix would be quite the addition for the Anfield side, with the youngster more than capable of playing in Klopp’s system.
After all, the German manager and his coaching team have improved many players over the years, and Mudryk developing alongside the likes of Salah and Diaz could be perfect for the Reds, with the 21-year-old youngster a perfect long-term replacement for the Egyptian winger.
