Fabrizio Romano has told CaughtOffSide that Romelu Lukaku does not plan to return to Graham Potter’s Chelsea and hopes to continue at Inter Milan next season, which will come as a blow for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur.
Earlier this month, Tuttosport reported that Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte is interested in signing Chelsea striker Lukaku in the summer of 2023 if Harry Kane leaves Spurs for Bayern Munich.
German giants Bayern are reportedly interested in England international striker Kane.
Belgium international striker Lukaku returned to Inter on a season-long loan deal in the summer of 2022.
Tottenham boss Conte worked with the former Everton striker at Inter.
They won the Serie A title together in 2020-21.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Romano has claimed that Lukaku hopes to be at Inter next season.
And this will come as a blow for Tottenham in their quest to sign Lukaku next summer.
After all, it seems that the 29-year-old striker wants to play for Inter next season, which means that Tottenham will find it hard to convince him to move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer of 2023.

Romelu Lukaku’s Chelsea plan amid Tottenham Hotspur rumour
Romano told CaughtOffside: “Freund will have a lot of work to do at Chelsea, on signings, loans, player sales. One name that’s cropped up already is Romelu Lukaku, but my understanding is that there is no update to speak of just yet.
“Nothing has changed between Lukaku and Chelsea. The point is the player – he’s only focused on Inter project and he hopes to continue there also next season.
“No one has called him on the Chelsea side, so I think the comeback is not a priority for both the club and the player right now.”
