Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Liverpool will definitely try and sign Jude Bellingham in 2023, but added that they could have major competition for the player.
Bellingham to Anfield was a transfer rumour that occasionally cropped up during the summer transfer window.
Even since its closure, the 19-year-old continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool.
One constant remains in every version of the report though, that Fenway Sports Group won’t sanction a big-money deal until 2023.

In July, that’s precisely what The Mirror reported, and The Daily Mail echoed that sentiment in August, as covered by HITC Sport.
Romano, a reliable journalist, has now weighed in on the situation and stated that Liverpool will certainly be in the race to sign him next year, but the Italian added that there’s other big clubs in England – like Manchester United – also interested.
He told his YouTube channel: “Liverpool signed Arthur Melo on loan, but they need a new top midfielder next summer and Bellingham can be the player, so Liverpool will try for sure. In England, all the top clubs, not just Liverpool, are following Bellingham. Man City, for sure, but also Man United have been following Bellingham for a long time, so many clubs will be in the race.”
Is Jude Bellingham signing for Liverpool?
Well, possibly. It’s entirely plausible that they could have an advantage, though.
That’s because in The Mirror‘s report a couple of months ago, it was claimed that the Borussia Dortmund sensation – who faces Manchester City tonight – was a diehard fan of the Anfield outfit and he liked how Jurgen Klopp had extended his contract on Merseyside.
If he is genuinely a boyhood fan of Liverpool then obviously Klopp and FSG will be fancying their chances.
