According to UOL, Brighton have approached Abel Ferreira – who was wanted by Leeds before Jesse Marsch arrived – to replace Graham Potter.
What’s the story?
Well, it was said that Leeds offered the 43-year-old a contract back in December as they began searching for alternatives to Marcelo Bielsa.
Eventually, Leeds opted to hire Marsch, which leaves Ferreira free to join Brighton – if the Seagulls can convince him.
UOL believe Brighton have made contact with the Portuguese coach, although he is keen to finish the season with Palmeiras and guide the Brazilian outfit to the Série A title.
The South American news outlet add that Brighton have been monitoring Ferreira for months, and have been impressed with his work at Palmeiras.

In total, the potential Potter replacement has lifted five trophies with Palmeiras, including the Copa Libertadores on two occasions, the Copa do Brasil, the Recopa Sul-Americana and the Campeonato Paulista.
As things stand, Ferreira sits top of the Série A table with Palmeiras by eight points after 26 games.
Brighton must copy Leeds
Those at Elland Road reacted swiftly after learning that Ferreira would not be obtainable.
Leeds quickly hired Marsch, who was able to slot in well given the similarities in style between the American and Bielsa, which helped the Whites avoid relegation last season.
That has also enabled both Marsch and Leeds to make sensible signings who fit the philosophy, leading to a fine start to the current campaign, which includes a 3-0 win over Chelsea.
Now, with Ferreira set to stay at Palmeiras, Brighton need to copy Leeds and find a suitable alternative, who isn’t too different to Potter.
If the Seagulls hire someone who adopts a vastly different playing style to Potter, then it could see them waste a chunk of the campaign as the players attempt to adjust and adapt.
Keep an eye on this situation, as Brighton continue their hunt to replace Potter.
