Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have a chance to sign Everton summer transfer target Mykhaylo Mudryk in the future, according to Fabrizio Romano on Que Golazo.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that Arsenal wanted to sign Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer transfer window.
Romano has added that Everton had a bid for the 21-year-old winger turned down, claiming that Ukrainian giants Shakhtar believe that they are going to make a lot of money from the sale of the Ukraine international winger.
Arsenal aye Everton taget Mykhaylo Mudryk
Romano said on Que Golazo: “I think in the future there is a chance for Arsenal, but only Arsenal. They had a very big chance in the summer.”
The journalist added, as transcribed by TheBootRoom: “When I was speaking to my sources during the summer about Mudryk to understand what’s going to happen with clubs around Europe, they told me from Shakhtar, they really think this guy is worth way more than €30 million.
“They received a proposal on the final week of the transfer window, €30 million plus add-ons from Everton. And they decided to say no after Antony to Manchester United for €100 million.
“They said, ‘For us, Mudryk can’t be sold for €30, or €35, or €40 million. We want way more than this’.

“So this is why in the end they decided to keep the player, because they are convinced that they are going to sell him for crazy, crazy money.”
Romano concluded: “Arsenal have a chance for the future, but there will be many other clubs in the race. It is not going to be an easy one.”
Could a transfer happen?
In our view, Arsenal could be able to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk in the future, but the North London club would clearly have to pay a lot of money.
With other clubs, including Everton, showing interest in the winger, Shakhtar Donetsk are clearly not going to sell him on the cheap.
If Arsenal are able to finish in the Premier League top four this season and get into the UEFA Champions League, then they could be able to afford to invest in the 21-year-old next summer.
Mudryk has made three appearances in the Ukrainian domestic league so far this season, and has scored one goal and given two assists in one UEFA Champion League match.
