Leeds United might regret not having signed Ivan Toney.
Leeds, along with Manchester United and Newcastle United, were credited with an interest in bringing the former Magpies academy hitman to Elland Road.
However, a transfer never materialised for the 26-year-old who wound up staying at Brentford.
This could be his last season with the Londoners, though, based on his exploits against Jesse Marsch’s troops last weekend.

Toney netted a brilliant hat-trick in a 5-2 demolition of Leeds.
And Paul Merson has admitted that he’s a big fan of him, claiming that the striker could even get a World Cup promotion to Gareth Southgate’s England squad come November.
He told Sportskeeda: “Ivan Toney is the man of the moment after his stunning hat-trick against Leeds United. He’s got to keep on doing it – that’s the name of the game. I really like him and believe he can get an England call-up ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.”
If Toney goes to the World Cup and shines then he’ll be untouchable for Leeds, unfortunately for them.
We’ll be talking about a much bigger Premier League outfit potentially signing him because, remember, he’s still only 26.
This is somebody who’s going to get better as he approaches the prime of his career and if he’s a lethal Premier League goalscorer at this age then suffice to say that he won’t have a problem attracting much bigger fish come next summer, providing he continues to score goals, that is.
