Khvicha Kvaratskhelia came into the consciousness of many English football fans on Wednesday evening with a starring performance against Liverpool.

Kvaratskhelia put on a mesmerising display against the Reds in the Champions League, and it’s fair to say that he caught the eye of many English supporters. However, one Premier League fanbase will already know all about this gem.

Indeed, the Georgian almost signed for Leeds United this time last year, but sadly, the Whites missed out on the ultra-talented winger who has eventually ended up at Napoli.

Kvaratskhelia put in an unbelievable performance against the Reds on Wednesday, and the attacker caught the eye of Gary Lineker who took to Twitter to laud the forward.

Lineker’s analysis of the 21-year-old is basic, but it’s spot on.

This dynamic attacker is exciting to watch and he must be a nightmare to play against.

There aren’t many players who possess his combination of speed, skill and energy, while he also has an incredible ability to find the back of the net, scoring four goals in five Serie A appearances so far this season.

Unfortunately, it looks like Kvaratskhelia has found his feet over in Italy, so a move to the Premier League may not be on the agenda in the near future – but given his incredible showings in Serie A, the youngster may only join a big six club if he’s going to head to the UK anytime soon.

The winger could easily have ended up in England with Leeds United this time last year, but the Whites missed out and now it looks like they made a massive mistake in not snapping this player up when they had the chance.
