The transfer window may be over, but there’s still one more big name set to arrive in the Premier League.

Indeed, according to numerous reports, Wolves are about to sign Diego Costa in a deal that will surely strike fears into the hearts of almost every Premier League player.

At the age of 33, Costa may be past his best in terms of on-the-field performances, but make no mistake about it the Spaniard will still be up to his old tricks when it comes to aggravating and winding up opposition players.

Indeed, Costa was the Premier League’s chief wind-up merchant. He’d often get opposition players sent off for violent conduct and even if they weren’t red-carded, he’d throw them off their game.

Costa will bring that edge back to the Premier League, but, luckily for Liverpool, he reportedly isn’t likely to be ready to face the Reds this weekend – and that’s good news for one player in particular.

Darwin Nunez has already shown that he has something of a short-fuse – being sent off against Crystal Palace for a headbutt against Joachim Andersen, and the fact that he won’t be playing against Diego Costa this weekend is something of a blessing.

As much as Nunez will be trying to turn a corner and avoid any more outbursts, he’s exactly the type of player Costa would target with his antics and given his temper, he could’ve been thrown off of his game by the former Chelsea man.

Nunez will be relieved after seeing The Telegraph’s report that Costa won’t be ready to make the trip to Anfield on Saturday, and the fact that the Spaniard will be watching from the stands may well save him from another three-match suspension as it wouldn’t have been surprising if Costa had gotten under his skin and prodded the Uruguayan to the point he was sent off again.

Costa is back, but fortunately, Nunez doesn’t have to worry about him for a few months yet.
