Graeme Souness has said on Sky Sports Premier League (8:17pm, September 3, 2022) that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah does not look the same player he was.
The Liverpool legend has pointed out that Salah recently signed a new contract with Liverpool.
The Sky Sports pundit hopes that it is not a case of the Egypt international forward getting complacent.

Souness said about Salah on Sky Sports Premier League (8:17pm, September 3, 2022): “I have not seen the same Mo Salah this year. He has signed a big contract that he wanted.
“At that level or this level, if you knock off by half a percent or 1%, you are not the same player.
“I hope it is not just him sitting in his armchair because he has signed a new contract. I am saying that, as a Liverpool supporter, hopefully to make him angry and prove me wrong.”
Stepping up
In our opinion, Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah needs to step up his game.
Now, Liverpool as a team have not been great so far this season.
So, there is an effect of that on Salah.
However, the Egyptian is arguably the most important attacking player for Liverpool, and we think that he needs to do better.
Now, Salah is getting chances, but he is not banging in the goals like we know that he can.
The 30-year-old has scored two goals and given two assists in six Premier League appearances for the Reds so far this season.
We think that it will eventually click for Salah.
The forward is just not having the best of times and is going through a tricky spell, like many other players.
Salah will eventually come good.
