West Ham United want Ola Aina and have made an offer worth around €8million for the Torino full back as they chase a late deal.
The Hammers have been bolstering their entire back line this summer with David Moyes retooling his defence.
Two centre backs have arrived with Nayef Aguerd and Thilo Kehrer coming in whilst left back Emerson Palmieri joined from Chelsea lats week.
The attention now turns to right back even with Kehrer able to play there and Vladimir Coufal still in the side – and one target is emerging for Moyes.
West Ham United want Ola Aina
Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that West Ham have now sent a first bid to Torino for full back Ola Aina.
It’s stated that West Ham have opened the bidding at €4million (£3.45million) plus another €4million (£3.45million) in add-ons, taking the deal to €8million (£6.9million).
However, Torino would like €6million (£5.2million) up front with the €4million (£3.45million) in add-ons, giving a total value of around €10million (£8.65million).
That gap is currently preventing a move from being done, but West Ham will hope to bridge the gap before tonight’s transfer deadline.
Aina, 25, came up through the Chelsea ranks but only ever made six first-team appearances for the Blues.
Aina had a loan spell at Hull City before heading to Torino in 2018, initially on loan before completing a permanent move.
The Nigerian international has been a regular in Serie A but did make a Premier League return in 2020, joining Fulham on a season-long loan move.
Aina could now return to London once again, with West Ham now keen to add him to their squad in the coming hours.
Aina would offer natural competition for Coufal at right back whilst even being able to play on the left side if needed.
The clock is ticking so West Ham will have to increase that offer if they don’t want to miss out on Aina today.
