Ian Wright has encouraged Liverpool to sign Jude Bellingham, amid speculation about the teenage sensation.
On August 17, The Daily Mail reported that the Reds’ hierarchy are expecting to sign the Borussia Dortmund midfielder, but that a deal wouldn’t be possible until next summer, as covered by HITC Sport.
Problem is, Liverpool need a midfielder now, before tomorrow’s transfer deadline, and manager Jurgen Klopp has already admitted that he’s in the market for someone in this position.
With Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Curtis Jones all injured, Klopp is down to the bare bones when it comes to midfield options, with 17-year-old Stefan Bajcetic earning a Premier League debut in the 9-0 victory over Bournemouth this past weekend.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, when co-host Kelly Cates brought up Bellingham’s name, Wright quickly responded: “Wow.”
Later in the segment, the former Arsenal hitman added: “Jude Bellingham, for me, would be in anyone’s midfield. If he could go somewhere like Liverpool it would be an unbelievable signing.”

Wright is correct in saying that ‘unbelievable signing’ just about sums it up.
At 19, Bellingham has a frightening future in football and it’ll be fascinating to see where the England international winds up.
However, Liverpool won’t be signing him anytime soon.
While Klopp might add a midfielder before the deadline, it’ll more than likely be a low-profile addition.
Liverpool have already broken their transfer record on £85 million Darwin Nunez this summer and you could argue that Bellingham would be a nine-figure signing, in excess of £100 million.
And rarely are such massive deals done at this stage of the window, particularly by the Anfield outfit.
