According to The Mail, Fulham have struck a deal to sign PSG left-back Layvin Kurzawa before the transfer deadline.
The French full-back has been linked with Fulham over the past few days, and it sounds like this one is going to go ahead.
Kurzawa would be the latest defensive reinforcement in a busy summer for Fulham that has seen the likes of Issa Diop, Shane Duffy and Kevin Mbabu arrive to bolster the Whites’ backline.
Whether or not Kurzawa would be a starter for Fulham remains to be seen. Antonee Robinson has been absolutely immense in the Premier League this season, and while Kurzawa is a France international, he may have an uphill battle on his hands when it comes to making it into Fulham’s starting XI.
However, Kurzawa would provide an extra dynamic going forward compared to Robinson.
The American may be incredibly quick, but his final-third contributions are often lacking, but that’s where Kurzawa thrives.
The Frenchman has a brilliant cross on him, while he’s also got the capabilities to be lethal in front of goal. In fact, the defender once actually scored a hat-trick in a Champions League game, so don’t be too shocked if he pops up with a goal or two for Fulham this season.
Marco Silva has made it more than clear in his recent press conferences that he thinks the Cottagers need bodies through the door if they’re to compete this season, and it looks as though he may get his wish.
Kurzawa will give Fulham more quality depth at left-back, but there is a sense that a striker, a midfielder and a winger are still needed at Craven Cottage before the window slams shut on Thursday.
Whether or not Fulham get what they need before deadline day remains to be seen, but signing Kurzawa is a solid enough start.
