Frank Lampard’s Everton are confident of signing Leander Dendoncker from Bruno Lage’s Wolverhampton Wanderers in the final days of the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

The report in the British tabloid has claimed that Everton have had a bid of £8.5 million for Wolves midfielder Dendoncker turned down.

However, the Toffees are confident of getting a deal done for the 27-year-old, who can also operate as a defender and earns £75,000 per week as salary (SalarySport).

Could Everton sign Leander Dendoncker from Wolverhampton Wanderers?

In our view, Everton could be able to sign Leander Dendoncker from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the final days of the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old Belgium international is not guaranteed a place in Bruno Lage’s starting lineup, and he could be tempted to move on.

Described as “terrific” and “very honest and very hard-working” by then Wolves sporting director Kevin Thelwell in talkSPORT in July 2019, Dendoncker has made two starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season.

The midfielder made 21 starts and nine substitute appearances in the league last season.

However, Everton have to raise their bid considerably from £8.5 million, as Wolves paid £12 million for Dendoncker.
