Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has been discussing Christian Pulisic’s future amid numerous reports linking him away from Chelsea.

The American has been linked to the likes of Manchester United and Leeds, but according to Bailey, Newcastle are big fans of the winger and shouldn’t be ruled out of this race.

However, the journalist says that this all depends on whether or not the Blues want to let Pulisic on loan, but, encouragingly, Bailey says that Todd Boehly may indeed be keen for Pulisic to go on a temporary basis.

What’s been said?

Bailey spoke about Pulisic and his options.

“Newcastle like him a lot, it’s just whether or not Chelsea allow him to move on loan. Todd Boehly would rather loan out Pulisic in case there’s something still there, but I wouldn’t rule out Newcastle for a loan deal here, but there’s a few in Europe who like him. Juventus still want a winger, he’s on their list, AC Milan. So I think Pulisic could happen fairly late, but quickly,” Bailey said.

Exclamation point

A late loan for Pulisic would be an exclamation point on what has been a fantastic summer window for Newcastle.

The Magpies have bolstered their defence, signed a top-class goalkeeper and broken their transfer record for a new, potentially world-class, striker.

Pulisic would add one more extra dynamic to United’s attack, and putting him in a front three alongside Allan Saint-Maximin and Alexander Isak could be an absolutely deadly combination.

We’ve waited all summer for Newcastle to spring to life in this transfer window, and now, with Isak through the door and Pulisic potentially on his way, the Tyneside club are living up to transfer expectations.
