Pat Nevin has praised Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott on BBC Sport for his performance against Bournemouth at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have hammered Bournemouth in front of their own fans.

Midfielder Elliott started the match on the right of a midfield-three.

The youngster was among the goals, and his performance impressed former Chelsea star and BBC Sport pundit Nevin.

Nevin said on BBC Sport (3:55pm, August 27, 2022) at the half-time interval: “Liverpool are a joy to watch when they play like this. They could easily get another four or five.

“Lots of great performances. Salah has been brilliant from the first minute, but Harvey Elliott has been unstoppable alongside him and Trent Alexander-Arnold.”

Exciting

Liverpool absolutely destroyed Bournemouth at Anfield in the Premier League this afternoon.

Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino was the star of the show with his goals and assists, but Elliott did his job brilliantly well in midfield.

The former Fulham youngster passed the ball well, drove the team from midfield, and was a force to be reckoned with.

Elliott is still only 19, and we expect him to get better and improve in the coming months and years.

The teenager has done exceptionally well to have become a regular in the Liverpool first team in the opening weeks of the season.

Now, when Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has all of his players fit and available, then the teenager will have to work extremely hard to be a regular in the starting lineup.

But, for now, Elliott should be very pleased with how he is doing.
