According to The Evening Standard, there is a loan offer on the table from Tottenham for Trevoh Chalobah.

It has been reported that Tottenham may be in the market for a new centre-back, with some stating that this signing would allow Japhet Tanganga the freedom to leave the club this summer, and it sounds as though those rumours were true.

Indeed, according to this report, Spurs have tabled a loan offer for Chalobah, and this could be a very interesting signing to say the least.

Chalobah knows how to play in a back three after being schooled by Thomas Tuchel, so that would potentially make him a good fit for Antonio Conte, while there is also something of a pre-existing relationship between the pair.

Let’s not forget, Conte was the Chelsea manager when Chalobah was coming up through the youth ranks, and while Conte never handed the defender a full debut during his time at Stamford Bridge, they did interact a fair bit.

Chelsea actually released a video of Chalobah and Conte celebrating an FA Youth Cup win back in 2017, so there is already something of a rapport between the pair.

This loan signing would certainly add some much-needed depth to Tottenham’s backline, and with Cristian Romero already suffering an early-season injury, this arrival may prove to be very important.

Chalobah more than held his own in a top-four team last season, shining for Chelsea on numerous occasions, and while he probably wouldn’t be able to break into Spurs’ strongest starting XI, his presence within the squad would be a massive help as Tottenham try to compete on all four fronts this upcoming season.
