90min have reported that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves, a player who is in high demand and is wanted by Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

90min have reported this evening that Liverpool are looking to make a late addition to their midfield department before the summer transfer window closes next week.

One of the players that the Liverpool scouting department has identified is Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Neves, according to the report.

Scouting reports on Neves have been positive, according to 90min, who have added that despite their interest in him, Liverpool may not actually actively pursue him.

The Portugal International midfielder – described as “a top, top player” and “sensational” by former Manchester United star Gary Neville on Sky Sports Premier League (7:29pm, March 18, 2022) – has been linked with Arsenal and the Red Devils as well this summer.

The Sun reported earlier this month that Arsenal and United are interested in signing Neves, with Wolves looking for £80 million in transfer fees for the 25-year-old.

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, if Wolverhampton Wanderers do not drop their asking price from £80 million, then Liverpool will not sign Ruben Neves in the summer transfer window.

No way.

Yes, Liverpool are looking for a new midfielder now, but we know that FSG are prudent with their money and will not simply splash the cash.

Wolves are a big and established club, and they are unlikely to sell Neves on the cheap, especially so late in the summer transfer window and when they know that they will have to find a replacement for him.
