Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Bryan Gil and his impending move to Valencia on loan.
Gil has been strongly linked with Valencia for quite some time now, and according to Gold, a loan move is close to completion.
Gil has barely been given a chance since joining Spurs last summer, and there’s a feeling that it may never happen for him in north London.
However, Gold was quick to note that this deal doesn’t seem to include an option to buy, which would suggest that Spurs aren’t fully giving up on Gil yet.
What’s been said?
Gold shared what he knows about this deal.
“I’m sad that he’s heading out again, but it seems to be, the early indications seem to be that there isn’t going to be an option to buy, and I hppe that remains, because that indicates to me that Spurs aren’t giving up on him,” Gold said.
Last chance saloon
Spurs may not have given up on Gil just yet, but he’s certainly in the last chance saloon.
The Spaniard seemingly hasn’t impressed enough at Tottenham so far, and while he was decent during his loan spell in Seville last term, Spurs are clearly looking for more.
Gil did look solid during pre-season – we even picked him out as one of Tottenham’s top performers during their open training session earlier this summer, but sadly, he’s not done enough to earn himself a place in the Tottenham squad this season.
Gil needs to impress at Valencia if he’s going to have any sort of future at Spurs.
It may be now or never for the winger to step up and earn his stripes and prove himself to Antonio Conte and the higher-ups at Spurs.
