Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Tottenham’s reported interest in Daniel James.
The Welsh winger has been linked with a move to Spurs this week, and now, Gold has shared what he knows about this situation.
According to the reporter, this isn’t a transfer that is particularly advanced at the moment. However, the journalist also states that the Welshman is in fact a player that Fabio Paratici is a fan of, so a move could be possible – but it may hinge on other players leaving Spurs before the end of the transfer window.
What’s been said?
Gold spoke about Spurs and their reported interest in James.
“Where do we start? Daniel James, he’s definitely one Paratici likes, but from what I am aware of, that isn’t one that is advanced anywhere beyond interest at this point, but you can never rule things out. I think the key is that if we see someone head out it means they’ve lined up a replacement,” Gold said.
A Paratici player
After hearing just how much Fabio Paratici loves Adama Traore, it’s no surprise to hear that he’s also a fan of Daniel James.
Indeed, while James and Traore couldn’t look anymore different in terms of their builds, they’re similar in terms of their style of play as they’re fast, direct wingers who can sometimes lack an end product.
However, Paratici certainly sees something in this type of player, and it’s clear that he values speed quite highly when judging potential new signings.
Whether or not Spurs move for James remains to be seen, but it isn’t a shock at all to hear that Tottenham’s Sporting Director is a fan of the Leeds ace.
