According to Foot Mercato, Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal to sign West Ham target Djibril Sidibe on a free transfer.
What’s the story?
Well, the 30-year-old was without a club after leaving Monaco at the end of last season, but he now looks to have found himself a new home at the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest have already made 16 signings this summer, although Steve Cooper is clearly still keen to bolster the right-back department, despite the arrival of Neco Williams.
Foot Mercato believe the Premier League newcomers have agreed a one-year contract with the France international, with the option of a second year.
The World Cup winner will now undergo a medical with Nottingham Forest, before putting pen to paper on his contract.
It means West Ham will have to look elsewhere as David Moyes aims to find competition for Vladimir Coufal – the Hammers were said to be monitoring Sidibe’s situation.
The Frenchman’s return to the Premier League – you may recall his loan spell at Everton – comes after he made 26 appearances in all competitions for Monaco last season.
Nottingham Forest continue to frustrate West Ham
Earlier this summer, Nottingham Forest shocked plenty of people when they managed to beat West Ham to the signing of Jesse Lingard.
The east Londoners were even said to have offered the England international more money.
Now, Cooper has got one over on Moyes yet again by beating him to Sidibe, a player of vast experience who will surely be a big help throughout the course of the season.

We aren’t quite sure when Nottingham Forest’s summer trolley dash will come to an end, but there is no denying that it’s very entertaining to follow – Cooper has nearly signed an entire starting XI and a full substitutes bench.
If their new recruits can gel together quickly, it could be a special season for the Championship play-off final winners.
