Alasdair Gold has told his YouTube channel that Tottenham man Ivan Perisic looked as if he might have picked up an injury against Wolves on Saturday afternoon – but did claim it was a different leg to his long-standing calf issue.

Perisic, 33, started his first game for Tottenham on Saturday – as Harry Kane scored the only goal of the game to win 1-0. A solid victory for Spurs, who remain unbeaten with seven points. In the same fixtures last season, they lost all three.

He got his second assist in a Spurs shirt. Taking the corner for Kane’s equaliser against Chelsea, he then flicked on a corner against Wolves to find an unmarked Kane for the winner on Saturday. A very strong start for the Croatian.

Of course, it comes on the back of a calf injury he sustained in his final Inter outing. However, Gold says while Perisic looked like he has picked up another knock, it was the other leg to the previous problem. Nothing has been confirmed.

“The only thing I noticed, Perisic did appear to be holding his leg,” Gold said. “In the last five minutes or so and when he came off, there was a physio checking on him. He hiked up his shorts while they were checking it out on that side.

“What I would say, obviously he is back from that serious calf injury. On Saturday, he was focusing on his right leg – the calf injury was his left leg. I’m not ruling out a new injury, but I’m pretty sure it was a different leg to the calf injury.”

Gold: Perisic might have picked up Tottenham injury

If Perisic does have an injury, it is a blow given how well he has started his Tottenham career. The Inter hero already has two crucial assists for Spurs. Goals which have saved four points for the North London club.

Conte is likely to use Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon in a rotational policy. Perisic in games where they need a bit more experience, and Sessegnon in games which can still allow the ex-Fulham man grow. Forest next, Sessegnon might start.
