Paris Saint-Germain want Ivan Ilic – just a year since Manchester City allowed him to join Hellas Verona in a deal worth around £6million.

City have become very, very good at signing young players and selling them on, sometimes without even playing a game for Pep Guardiola’s first team.

Just this summer alone you can look towards Gavn Bazunu, Pedro Porro, Ko Itakura, Darko Gyabi and Romeo Lavia who have moved on for millions.

Last summer it was Jack Harrison, Lukas Nmecha and Ilic earning City millions in the transfer market – but Ilic could now make a huge move.

Paris Saint-Germain want Ivan Ilic

Just a year on, Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Paris Saint-Germain are trying to sign Ilic.

It’s suggested that Ilic’s agents are in Milan to try and thrash out his future with PSG now targeting a deal.

Football Italia note that City bought Ilic for €3million (£2.5million) and sold him to Hellas Verona for around €7.5million (£6.3million).

Ilic, 21, only hit one goal and four assists in 32 Serie A games last season but appears to have attracted PSG’s interest.

The Serbian midfielder has impressed as a playmaker in Italy and still has plenty of untapped potential.

PSG have brought in a new sporting director this summer in Luis Campos, and he loves to go for young players with potential rather than the big names PSG usually target.

We have already seen PSG bring in Vitinha and Hugo Ekitike, and Ilic would continue that push to bring in players with bright futures.

City are bound to have a sell-on clause in Ilic’s deal, meaning they could benefit financially from any move to the French capital.

Seeing Ilic make such a big move just a year after leaving City may leave some wondering whether he could have had a future under Pep Guardiola after all, and the Serbian will certainly hope to prove City wrong for letting him go.
