Ben Foster has been speaking on YouTube about Crystal Palace, where he commented on Michael Olise – who is wanted by Arsenal.

What’s the story?

Well, the 39-year-old revealed that he has been speaking to his old Watford teammate Will Hughes about the talented youngsters at Crystal Palace, and he thinks very highly of Olise.

When discussing the 20-year-old wonderkid, Foster said: “I spoke to Will Hughes a couple of times about the young lads there, and he said Eze is incredible, but Olise is the one. He said watch out for Olise, he is outrageous.”

It’s no wonder Mikel Arteta is keeping an eye on the France Under-21 international.

Olise has taken to life in the Premier League like a duck to water since he was signed from Reading for just £8m in July 2021.

The Crystal Palace No.7 scored four goals and provided nine assists in 32 appearances last season, and in truth, he could’ve been involved in more goals – his creativeness is up there with the best in England.

As you can see, the London-born prodigy outdid Mason Mount and Christian Eriksen in terms of expected assists last season, and was only beaten by two of the best on the planet in Kevin De Bruyne and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Therefore, if his Crystal Palace teammates were a bit more clinical last term, maybe more people would be saying the same as Hughes told Foster.

Arsenal eye raid on Crystal Palace

When you have such exciting talents like Olise, Eze, Marc Guéhi and Tyrick Mitchell in your squad, it would be naive not to expect the biggest clubs around to circle.

That is exactly what has happened. Arsenal are said to be huge admirers of Olise, who is believed to have a release clause worth £35m in his contract.

However, Crystal Palace are wary of that clause starting to look a bit low, and have planned to hike it up in a bid to fend off the Premier League’s elite.

Any deal involving the Gunners would come with the approval of Ian Wright, who has already described Olise as an “unbelievable” talent.

Whatever happens, Crystal Palace must be commended for somehow signing the wonderkid for £8m – those on the recruitment team at Selhurst Park are doing an excellent job, to say the least.
