Reported Arsenal target Lucas Paqueta does not fancy a move to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, according to But! Football Club.
Arsenal target Lucas Paqueta aiming higher than Newcastle
The report has claimed that Newcastle have been persistent in their pursuit of Lyon attacking midfielder Paqueta.
However, the 24-year-old Brazil international does not fancy a move to St. James’ Park and is aiming higher despite having his friend and former Lyon teammate Bruno Guimaraes at the Magpies, according to the report.
Interestingly, Newcastle’s Premier League rivals Arsenal have also been linked with the Brazilian star.
The Northern Echo reported last week that Arsenal and Newcastle are keen on securing the services of Paqueta this summer.
Arsenal Technical Director Edu told Brazilian news outlet TNT Sports last month that he “really” likes the midfielder, and that he is a “big fan since long time” of his Brazilian compatriot.

Should Newcastle give up on Arsenal target Lucas Paqueta?
In our view, if Lucas Paqueta does not fancy a move to St. James’ Park this summer, then Newcastle United should give up on trying to sign the Arsenal target.
There is no point in spending weeks and weeks in trying to persuade a player to join a club.
Arsenal are aiming to finish in the Premier League top four this season and will also play in the UEFA Europa League, and we can understand that the Gunners would be more appealing than Newcastle to Paqueta.
