Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has raved about Marquinhos on the club’s official website and has said that he has been stunned by his physicality.
Arteta has said that he is very happy with what he has seen from Arsenal forward Marquinhos so far.
The 19-year-old Brazilian, who can also play as a winger, joined Arsenal from Sao Paulo in the summer transfer window.

Arteta told Arsenal’s official website about Marquinhos: “I’m very happy with him. He’s adapted very well and he’s a really likeable figure in the dressing room and around Colney.
“His language is not great yet but I think his physicality has been pretty exceptional, for someone who has come from Brazil and has a different way to train and play, but he’s done it.
“I think he’s got the qualities for how we want to play. We will keep him here for another few months and makes sure that he establishes himself at the club and in the team, and afterwards we’ll see what the best movement for his career.”
One for the future
In our opinion, Marquinhos is a player for the future for Arsenal.
After all, the Brazilian is only 19 and moved to England just a few weeks ago.
We should not expect Marquinhos to hit the ground running at Arsenal.
It would make sense for the teenager to train with the Arsenal first team and play for the youth side for now.
We do not think that Arsenal should send Marquinhos out on loan just yet.
It would make sense for Arteta to closely monitor the Brazilian forward until December and then make a decision on a potential loan move in January 2023.
You never know, Marquinhos could show the Arsenal boss in training that he is ready to play for the first team on a regular basis.
