According to The Sun, Fulham are interested in a move for Blackburn Rovers star Ben Brereton Diaz.
The Chilean international is entering the final year of his contract with Rovers, and there are plenty of Premier League clubs circling.
Leeds, Everton and Bournemouth have all been linked with a move for the attacker, and it’s not hard to understand why so many teams are keen on this young man.
Brereton Diaz had an outstanding season in the Championship last time around, netting 22 goals, while his exploits for Chile have showcased what he can do against top-level opposition.
Fulham are now in the race for the 23-year-old, and it’s fair to say that he’s a player the Whites could do with.
Marco Silva’s side are lacking depth up front, with Aleksandar Mitrovic their only senior recognised number nine after Rodrigo Muniz’s lack of involvement in pre-season, while Brereton’s ability to play off of the left would also be a massive plus for the Cottagers.
Indeed, with Manor Solomon out for the foreseeable future, Fulham need some more quality and more depth down that flank, and the Blackburn ace could provide that.
Of course, getting the former Nottingham Forest man out of Ewood Park may be easier said than done.
Brereton Diaz is a player Blackburn will be desperate to keep hold of – they’ve already rejected a bid from Nice for their star man, but his contract situation may well pressure them into a sale.
Don’t be surprised if the ‘wonderful’ attacker ends up joining a Premier League side before the transfer window closes.
