Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Dean Jones has been discussing the potential deal between Chelsea and Everton for Anthony Gordon.

The youngster has been strongly linked with the London club this weekend, and according to The Mirror, he’s now keen to make the move.

However, despite Gordon being keen to join Chelsea, Jones is led to believe that this could be a difficult deal to broker.

Fortunately for Chelsea, Jones states that a swap deal could be on the cards, claiming that the Blues have four players that Everton are keen on.

What’s been said?

Jones shared what he knows about Gordon and Chelsea, stating that Frank Lampard would absolutely love Conor Gallagher, who could join in a swap deal.

“Everton don’t want to lose this player so in order to get him Chelsea will have to come up with something pretty tasty for Everton to cave. The one thing that might help is that Lampard wants about four of Chelsea’s players. There might be a way they can work this out. I never expect cash plus player deals to come off, but this might be one where we should take it seriously. To replace Gordon, Everton will need another forward threat, so they could be given Broja or Batshuayi, there’s also creativity, you have Hudson-Odoi and Conor Gallagher. Gallagher is someone Lampard would love to have,” Jones said.

Better side of the bargain

If Everton manage to land Gallagher in a deal that sees Gordon head to Stamford Bridge, there’s an argument to make that they’d be getting the better side of the bargain with this one.

Indeed, it’s not ridiculous to suggest that Gallagher is a more valuable player than Gordon at the moment. After all, the Chelsea man is an England international and he actually outscored Gordon last term despite being a much deeper midfield player.

If Everton are offered any type of deal that cans see them get Gallagher through the door, they need to snap Chelsea’s hands off.
