Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur could make a new bid for Chelsea target and AS Roma attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo in the summer transfer window, according to CMW.

Tottenham could make new bid for Chelsea target Nicolo Zaniolo

CMW have reported that Tottenham remain interested in Zaniolo, rated at €50 million (£42.29 million) by Roma, and could make a new bid for the Italy international.

This will come as a blow for Tottenham’s bitter London and Premier League rivals Chelsea.

That’s because the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are also interested in Zaniolo, who has “incredible potential”, according to comments from former AS Roma player Zbigniew Boniek in New Sound Radio in July 2022.

CMW reported last week that Chelsea want to sign Zaniolo from Roma in the summer transfer window and are willing to include Christian Pulisic in a swap deal.

It was also CMW who reported last week that Roma turned down an offer from Tottenham for Zaniolo.

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, if Tottenham Hotspur or Chelsea want to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from AS Roma in the summer transfer window, then they simply have to pay the €50 million (£42.29 million) that the Italian club want.

AS Roma are aiming to win the Serie A title this season, and they will surely not want to sell one of the best young players on the cheap.

Moreover, Roma have a former Chelsea and Tottenham manager in Jose Mourinho in charge now, and the Portuguese will certainly not want to sell one of his best players to one of his former clubs.
