Newcastle United want Chelsea players and Amanda Staveley has now been spotted alongside Mehrdad Ghodoussi at Stamford Bridge.

The Magpies have made three first-team signings this summer with Nick Pope and Sven Botman arriving whilst Matt Targett turned his loan move permanent.

Fans may have expected more though and Newcastle should be busy in the final weeks of the summer transfer window.

Newcastle have been linked with a raft of players this summer and a number of them play for the same club – Chelsea.

Newcastle United want Chelsea players

Over the course of the summer window, Newcastle have regularly been linked with Chelsea players.

Callum Hudson-Odoi, Armando Broja and Conor Gallagher are the main names in that regard, with all three potentially heading out on loan.

Newcastle are positioning themselves in the race for all three players, with Hudson-Odoi the most likely to leave on loan and Gallagher the least likely.

Any of those players would give Newcastle a real boost and hopes of signing one of them have risen.

Chelsea hosted Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon and Newcastle minority owner Staveley was in attendance.

Staveley was pictured alongside husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi at Stamford Bridge, with the pair chatting to Chelsea part-owner Behdad Eghbali.

The Athletic report that Staveley and Ghodoussi were invited by Chelsea owner Todd Boehly, who has been a friend of Staveley for a while.

That report adds that Newcastle have held international discussions about deals for Broja, Gallagher and Hudson-Odoi whilst Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic is another target.

Those deal may well have come up in conversation between Staveley, Ghodoussi and Eghbali on Sunday, with the lines of communication clearly open.

It’s great for Newcastle anyway, with key Magpies figures being invited by a top-six Premier League club.

There had been fears that the ‘big six’ would effectively work against Newcastle but Chelsea seemingly have no intention of doing that.

That can help Newcastle in many ways but fans will hoping it leads to an exciting signing this month.
