Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest are set to beat Frank Lampard’s Everton to the signing of Brighton and Hove Albion forward Neal Maupay, according to The Daily Mail.

Nottingham Forest close to signing Everton target Neal Maupay

According to The Daily Mail (print edition, page 81, August 12, 2022), Everton have considered signing Maupay from Premier League rivals Brighton in the summer transfer window.

The Toffees are on the hunt for a new striker.

Everton sold Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin has had his injury problems.

However, it seems that Everton are now about to miss out on Maupay to promoted club Nottingham Forest.

The Daily Mail are now reporting that Forest have offered £10 million upfront plus a further £5 million in-ons to Brighton for the forward.

The Reds are reported to be close to securing the services of the 25-year-old French forward.
